Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilitties. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body’s life force to aid healing.
Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points , but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses gentle but firm pressure of the hands.
In both acupuncture and acupressure the goal is to relieve pain or discomfort by bringing the qi (or chi) into balance and letting the body heal it's self. It does this through the 12 meridians in the human body. Along the meridians are certain pressure points. These are actually the same points that the martial arts use; they just use them for a different reason. Anyway, by stimulating these pressure points the chi regains balance and the symptoms abate.
Acupressure can be is helpful for many conditions including the following
- SINUS PROBLEMS
- NECK PAIN
- MUSCLE ACHES
